ARTICLE 1
MEETINGS
1.1 Involvement. Biweekly meetings shall be held each calendar school year on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. The meeting shall be held at the time and place designated by the Club Leaders. This information shall be stated on the website.
1.2 Attendance. If one cannot attend a meeting, notify a Club Leader with the reason as to why. Meetings will last for 20 minutes or less during Research, and one must be there for at least 15 minutes to qualify as attended. Not attending one meeting but not notifying a Club Leader will result in one strike out of a three strikes system. Failure to comply with attendance may result in a kick from the club.
ARTICLE 2
BEHAVIORAL PRESENCE
2.1 Conduct. Any member found to state offensive remarks or do actions that may be considered offensive to other club members/competitors will result in one strike out of a two strikes system. Regardless of if it is done in person or online, it would still be considered the same. If it is something extremely offensive, it may result in an immediate termination from the club. The consequence is up to Club Leader discretion. If you must think about whether it is offensive, then don’t say it.
2.2 Behavior. Any member found to have previous history of negative personal or online behavior could result in disqualification of participating in the club. Negative behavior may include but not be limited to: bullying, cyberbullying, and harassment of any kind. All cases are up to Club Leader discretion, and they will go through the Staff Member in charge of the club for approval/denial.
ARTICLE 3
COMPETITION
3.1 Practice. Keep practicing in the game you plan on participating in. It’s not going to be tracked, so we see it more as an honor system. We understand there could be weeks where you really can’t practice, but make sure that if you are participating in a tournament that you are well-prepared.
3.2 Etiquette. In any competitive setting, you may not perform taunts or actions with implied negative remarks to the opposing competitor team. This may include but not be limited to: typing negative statements to the enemy team, emoting to taunt, using voice-lines to taunt, and teabagging.
3.3 Sportsmanship. Regardless of winning or losing, compliment the opposing competitor team on the match fought. If the match is lost, don’t be a sore loser about it.
ARTICLE 4
ACADEMICS
4.1 GPA. To participate in the club, attendees must require at least a minimum of a 3.0 Weighted GPA. If you are unsure of this number, log into your Focus to check, or ask one of the counselors.
4.2 Game Usage. The time designated for practicing of games during school hours shall be any Flex (exception of Advisory) in addition to the two Research periods on Fridays per month, as designated by the Club Leaders and stated on the website. If you play the game outside of that time frame during school hours the first time will result in a warning, and further misconduct will result in a kick from the club. The only people allowed to play the game are the people inside the team for that game. It is not allowed to pass your device to someone else, this will be counted as misconduct as well. You are allowed to play these games at home once they are on your device.
